I believe the first thing I do is take my sledge hammer and beat the tar out of the alarm clock. Sometimes I think I am awake but find it is only a dream because my eyes are not open because I am walkin down the sidewalk plum naked. HELL I dunno, what do you do first?!

My eyes seem to open first and then I'm kind of disoriented for a couple minutes. Dreams still in my eyes, overlapping with reality. It's beautiful sometimes, other times it's frightening. I wake up more with the emotion of my dream with burned in images from it dancing in my eyes still. It gets really scary if someone's watching me wake up....

Oh mine O mine! This sounds really funny. Ofcourse you wake up first before even opening your eyes. You should realise that you might be awake without you opening your eye at first. So it's possible.
As for me, I wake up first into my sub-conscious then in a matter of some seconds my eyes automatically open. This is science. So, it's simple.

I wake up first. First I smell what is around me, then I start to notice sounds, then I open my eyes.

I wake up, then I stave off opening my eyes for as long as possible. I usually spend about 20 minutes praying that I was anywhere but where I am now.

I think that you wake up first. I don't think you'll be able to open your eyes while you're asleep unless you're one of the few people who can sleep with opened eyes.

I would assume that i wake up first because my alarm wakes me up and then i open my eyes. Once i open my eyes i dont look awake though. lol

Interesting! I guess I probably wake up first.
I think it would be very interesting to know the probability of waking up before you open your eyes and vice versa, and the implications of these two, if any.
