The big question is....how do you know you ovulated?? You can not get pregnant 48 hours after the egg is released from the ovum. Those that say they did are most likely misinterpreting when they ovulated.

Scientists disagree how long you can get pregnant after you ovulate. Some say that they egg needs sperm waiting for it when it pops out. Other say you need to have sex within hours. I think all agree that within 24 hours the egg is too far gone to be able to be fertilized.

When you are doing Natural Family Planning and are trying to avoid pregnancy then pros say to abstain for 2 days after you ovulate as a cushion. Just in case you misinterpreted the time of the ovulation.

But I have to stress that you need to KNOW and I mean not THINK but KNOW you ovulated.

Back to a short answer.....no you would not be more likely to conceive if you have intercourse the day after. The day before would be best.

Now the question is "how do I know I am going to ovulate" The easy way is to just take notice of your cervical fluid. When you wipe after going to the bathroom if you have some slimy egg white looking stuff on the toilet paper then your body is gearing up for ovulation. Start having sex if you want to get pregnant.

Good luck to you. Have some fun!

It is possible to conceive the day of ovulation. But, you have a better chance if you have intercourse 2-5 days before.
