Well take him to the mall. He must have one nice outfit he could wear there. Then take him to cute stores but don't buy the most expensive clothes you see. Just get some cute stuff or maybe you could try a store like wal-mart or target. Maybe if you have a nice thift store near you you should try their, my best friend shops at this nice thift store near her house and she gets designer jeans for $10. But don't say " I hate you taste in clothing" because that could offend him just say something like do you wanna go to the mall! Hope it helps!!!!!!!!!!!

At the store or in magazines, try pointing out some things you think look nice or are in style to try and get a feel for what he likes. Try to stay as true to his style as possible just bring him up to date. For every special occasion he has (birthdays, etc)you should buy him some clothes. If he cares about your feelings he'll try to wear them at least around you. Try to go with him whenever he goes shoppping without it being so obvious you're trying to fashionably save him. Remind him you don't have to spend lots of money to look nice and be comfortable in your clothes. Even the thrift store have nice things. You just have to have a little more time and patience to look through the clothes there. Whenever he wears these things, make sure to tell him how nice he looks. And how much you really like those types of things on him. He may start to feel good in them. If after all that he still goes back to his old clothes, then you should just accept it or leave him. The ultimate goal should not be to change who he really is.

I had the same problem. Over time, I would buy him little gifts every once in a while (which was clothes). I would tell him I was just thinking about him when I bought it (which wasn't a lie) and then when he would put it on, I would tell him how sexy he looked (which wasn't a lie either). We moved in together pretty quickly, so I would just work in my "gifts" and tuck his old stuff in the very back of the closet. Worked like a charm!

in stead of the mall talk to him about going to Goodwill or the Salvation army for good but used clothes at a reasonable price and maybe free. that way he'll still be wearing the same type of clothes he's use to but they will fit and the prices are reasonable. it might be the diffrence between him saying no or yes ...good luck and i' like to know the out come of your problem.

Look through a magazine together and mention how some of the male models look in their outfits. H e might get an idea of what style attracts you. Go to Target or Wal Mart and grab a pair of jeans, saying "do youlike these? I think they'd look great on you".

I'd help him find a good job but on the other hand if I met him like that, I was attracted to him not how he dressed. If he treats you well and is respectful, don't change him, you might not like the person he becomes with new clothes

i once had a boyfriend like that. i took him shopping and had him try things on i liked. then when he came out, i really couldn't say enough how great he looked, and he ended buying everhthing i liked. the clothes don't have to be expensive. even a nice pair of jeans from wal mart, with a cool t-shirt.

you dont have to go to the mall and buy a bunch of fancy stuff for him.... take him to target. believe it or not they have some pretty nice stuff there. when he gets home it wont look like you went on a shopping spree and just say that its for his birthday. ppl get presents for their birthday all the time even when its not even close.
