No I don't agree. Marriage was instituted in the Garden of Eden by God, so it wouldn't go against the natural instinct of man. Anyone who says so uses that as an excuse for the reason why they can't work things out in a marriage

No, I don't think it's a divine arrangement, it's a choice.
I think that people have an instinct and a drive for companionship and love. You could argue that man simply seeks to impregnate and propagate his DNA into anything he sees, however- if this urge is so strong, why do people choose other people? Why will anybody not do?
surely if we were merely driven by our primal instincts then should another man try to mate with his female then that man would be fine with this provided he got there first so to speak. The usual instinct is to tear out eyeballs using teeth when this happens though.
There is more to man's desire for a mate than simple procreation and continuation of the species. We have base animal desires but we have evolved beyond them and adapted as our world has changed. This is how we have survived as a species.
The difference between chimp and man amounts to more than contraception and cutlery
Men can blame their monkey genes for wanting to be promiscuous but unlike a chimpanzee, people are aware of their own consciousness and have the ability to make choices, so it's just no excuse!

Marriage is not against natural instinct of man. Divine institution or not, lifelong relationships are natural. Marriage nowadays has been spoiled by society I agree, but the idea of lifelong relationships has not been invented, merely discovered.

Marriage IS a Divine institution, ordained by God.
And yes, man's natural, sinful nature is perverse.
But we were created with the NEED to join ourselves to another, to procreate. Marriage is a need-meeting institution.

There are 2 factual natural instincts of men (there are MANY actually) with which no one can argue: men need to get their rocks off and mankind needs togetherness (love and belonging). Monogamy is the concept in question. That's a toughie. Boy I could get lengthy here: men have an overwhelming sex drive but hopefully at some point they realize that they can be sexually fulfilled by one woman who ideally is also their best friend for life.Women need to understand this about men and suppress the tendancy to smother them with possessiveness. Men are forever complaining that women are emotionally complicated and this is not really true. Women are emotionally COMPLEX but in a really good way. I think men are the ones who are complicated in that they are often CONFUSED about sex and love: so often, men think that because a woman is sexually satisfying, he misconstrues this to mean he is in love with her. Women do this too, I admit, sometimes. We have to eventualy grow away from the misguided notion that our physicality is the "end all". It isn't. It is important right now here on this earth that we have air to breathe, water to drink and food to eat but as time goes on and we mature in life, our souls are really what matters.

No and yes.
It is not Divine but it does go against the natural instinct.
People have the instinct to cheat because it increases the chances of having children. however now that is not as impotent as raising one or 2 kids correctly. So now people get married and raise children.

Aside from food and water the only true human instincts come from our reptillian brain and are fight or flee... I think these must come from security and safety or self preservation.
A good marriage especially one with children SHOULD bring these together by forming a nucleus to share the work of food and water etc. and to provide something to protect and preserve and something to trust and rely on when you in turn need it. I think the opposite I think it is the most natural of instincts.

No it is insurance.
Personally I would rather have a partner that would want to stay with me because of love, rather than because he had promised to, and invested money into it.
It doesn't go against the nature of man though. Why would the natural instinct of love exist if that was the case.

I don't think of marriage as divine. It's man made in order to make us feel higher than animals. When really, we're not. The only difference between us and animals is animals can do it with no judgment from us. Lucky them.

Monogamy is for life is worse than a prison life sentence. You get out of prison after 10 years no matter what. But marriage has you by the short and curlies for ever and ever (plus a day)
