So a person can be made quicker, stronger, smarter, or so they can resist viruses that normal people can't etc... I'm sure the military has already done it and you'll hear about it in a Science magazine 20 years down the road when it's finally declassified like the B-2 stealth bomber...

Well I have heard people say that a cloned human might not have a soul & a conscience? It is also a life made in a test tube by some scientists playing God..... Cloning is not a life sewn together in the womb by God.. ya know what I meen?
When you really think about how a child is normally concieved, out of love & how it grows in the womb of its mother & has dna from both parents, & hears it's mothers heart beat & voice, etc...
Cloning is very strange.. Why would someone want an exact replica of another human being anyways & have it made & created, & born in a scientific lab?? If cloning would be the norm.. We would all feel like we were in the movie "I ROBOT".
Well God Bless & hope that was helpful

Let's put religion aside.
Cloning a human is essentially having man doing something that nature already has perfected. Well, as we know man isn't perfect. Remember Dolly the Sheep? She's dead now. And she had quite a horrific death due to the deformities that existed within her.
What human would want to be created, then have the potential to run into the same risks? Would you want your child to be the test baby? I think not. But the only way to perfect human cloning would be through trial and error. Thus it would be creating life, seeing it go wrong, then attempting to fix it.
Furthermore, there is prejudice in the world. We deal enough with the problems of race, religion, creed. Why add another element to that. I cna hear it already, "Honey, those damn clones are taking all the good jobs."
Would you want to be a clone? Knowing that you were created unnaturally? There are enough people that deal with issues of separation simply by being adopted. Now imagine knowing you were the product of a science experiment.
I don't object to having body parts cloned. If I need a new heart in life, it would help a lot if I could get an exact duplicate to replace my own. However, there's already enough of me out there in the world. I don't know if anyone wants to put up with another one of me. :)

A lot of it has to do with tampering with nature or "the way god intended". Cloning is still a very new technology and the success rate is very low. The best results have come from sheep I believe, and the success rate is still less than 10%. So, you would potentially be trying to create humans where at least 9 out of 10 attempts are unsuccessful. So, depending upon when you think human life starts, it could be considered deaths.

It is confusing to me too,but it appears that
one big reason is that some people do seem
to worship the image of a certain person, more
than they actually ever loved the person.
They feel comfy having their image near them,
but there may be those who have become very
obsessed with a person, just had to have them,
and they may want to clone them,ect....
There are many motives, and most seem very
greedy and many seem very sick!!!
The lose of a child seems like a more decent
and acceptable excuse,yet,thats not letting
reality set in,it's adding to escapism and
the chances of a person getting more mentally
off balanced a higher likely hood.
Losing someone you love is hard enough, but
trying to have an exact replica still won't be
them, just their twin, who may or may not love
you like the other did?
I hear they may try to clone those from ancient
bible times, and that is very crazy, don't you
think?

Let's start with the fact that you would be PLAYING GOD. Also you have that people will think that you should be the same person as teh one you cloned. There is also the question of does a clone have a soul. I could go on and on about the moral issues. There is also the fear that we would start making body harvests. As in you will be cloning arms or such just so that you have a spare arm.

Well, I think that some people are wanting to clone so they have "Extra" body parts in case of severe illness for like transplants and stuff, so it would be wrong to create a human to just use them as a harvesting machine. It is different than a couple having a baby in order to use bone marrow to help an older child. They are not actually destroying the child to save another.

Because cloning is an attempt to re-create an already existing being.
I also don't exactly feel comfortable with the idea of having another "me" walking around.. or being cut up on a lab bench.
Who decides which life is more important than another?
