I refused to buy some from from a toothless lady of the road and she kicked me in the knackers. Do you think my luck would've been better if I'd bought some from her?

No, dearie - I kicked you in the knackers 'cos you haven't put that gorgeous picture back yet!
Grinner 5001 - Can't believe you're telling everyone about our precious moments. After everything you said. I may be toothless, but I've got feelings, you know.

Good question (and very funny).
I started a new job a few years ago, and on my first day a gypsy lady sold me some lucky heather on my lunch break (for a quid, although she wanted two quid). I kept the heather on my desk, and sure enough within 6 months of starting I got the sack.
Think I might've prefered a kick in the knackers.

There is no such thing as 'luck'. It's an invented quality to explain good and bad things that happen to us that seem to happen for no apparent reason. So there's no lucky heather, good luck charms, lucky rabbit's feet or anything else.
The best way to treat gypsies and others who try to sell them to you is ask if they believe in 'luck'. If they say 'No' then ask why they are selling such rubbish. If they say 'Yes' tell them that you do to and have the power of placing curses on people and they will be the next if they don't stop bothering you.

I think that the same old crone came to see me. I bought some heather off her and I got lucky - lucky with the old hag. Being toothless isn't all bad you know, man what a night that was.....

If Heather was so bleeding lucky, why would Romany types be selling it? They have oodles of it and they're begging!! Next time you see a Gypsy, curse them, by phoning the Police!!

Next time buy some and you may get lucky with her, although by the sounds of her I wouldn't bother. She doesn't sound much of a looker

Yes she sure is. I sent old pegleg out a few years back for a loaf of bread & some milk, but now it looks like we may have our lucky mits on half of Macca's fortune. Nice one!!
(Didn't give me my change back for the bread though, thievin' slapper)

No, it would have been unlucky to buy from her - you would have wasted hard earned cash on a crap weed! Even more painful than a kick to the family jewels!

Any "lucky charm" or such only has as much power as YOU put into it. That is why a crucifix will not work on a Jewish vampire.
