I am blond but prefer to have a baby with dark hair...is that possible to know in advance?

Yes, when choosing a sperm donor you can choose a donor with certain features such as hair and eye color. BUT, it is not a total guarantee. If you choose a man with dark hair, he may still have a recessive blonde gene from one of his parents; therefore with your blonde hair which is double recessive combined with the possibility of inheriting the recessive from the sperm you could have a blonde child. You may get lucky and recieve the dominant gene for dark hair.
Now, if you are not a natural blonde the chances are pretty good that your child will have dark hair (still not guranteed because both parents could have the recessive blonde gene).
But really - all that matters is the baby's health, right?

Goodness, why? Apart from the baby at the end, I think the man part is the only fun you will get out of any pregnancy.
