I never see him paying for anything, could be he's a field tester for all their unproven models. That'd explain why they mess up so often. And a lot of times, they work just fine. It's his application that causes the problem.

All ACME products don't back fire. It is just that Wile E. Coyote Thinks that he is a "Super Genius."
Why does Wile E. Coyote keep buying ACME produces if they keep back firing?
A) He doesn't need the instructions and puts them together wrong.
B) He uses them for purposes in which they weren't designed to be used.
C) Sometimes the less evolved mind is the hard one to out smart.
D) Even "Super Geniuses" have bad days.
E) "Super Genius" just means your more susceptible to ego.

Because ACME is the only store in Toon Town. Besides, I think Bugs Bunny and Daffy have both bought ACME products that work. If Wile E. Coyote, Super Genius, saw them work for the Wabbit, then I'm sure he assumed they would work for him. The problem is that he's trying to catch a roadrunner who is much too fast for him. And he doesn't set things up correctly because he is in such a rush to get them built.
