I've been watching soaps fof as long as I can remember, and I still watch them. People keep telling me they are wrong and I need to stop,but I can't. My husband told me that they will rot my brain out and on Sunday a friend of mine told me they are no good. I'm just curious to know is there is anybody out there who still watch soaps

I still watch soaps. I wouldn't say they are any worse for you than anything else that comes on tv or in the movies. Keep watching them.

You know, the truth is this. I agree that there are things in soaps that are not good, but let me ask you this. These people that tell you that soaps are wrong---
Do they watch PG13 movies?
Do they listen to rock or country music?
Do they watch TV that is not entirely geared toward preschoolers?
Do they get on the internet?
Do they read magazines?
Do they look at signs or billboards as they drive down the road?
Do they go to the beach or to swimming pools?
I watch soaps daily and I worship Christ daily. Which is more important to me? Which has a greater impact for me? Christ, of course. You just cannot follow the behavior of soaps nor let your life become like theirs.......... Hope this helps you. Just remember that you can always pray about it and God will help you through it.

I have been watching Days of Our Lives for over 20 years, I have watched several others that did not stay on the air. One I watch on SOAP TV is Another World. I also watch Passions. I am a Christian, but I also know that soaps are not real, although they did put in some real life things, it is just a story. You just have to remember that they are not real and to not focus your life around what goes on on the TV. AS long as you understand they are not real, ENJOY.

Yes I am a Christian and I have watch soaps for the past 16 years. I really don't think there is any thing wrong with it.I have asked a couple of women in my church and they said they tape their soaps doing the day went they are at work.So I would keep on watching them! My favorites are Young and the Restless,As the World Turns and Guilding Light!

I've been watching soaps since forever (30+ years), and I'm Christian. Soaps are like any other genre; first of all they're fiction, not an advice column on how to run your life. I like them because on your worst day, you can watch a soap and feel superior to all the smart, super-rich, educated people who don't have sense enough to come in out of the rain.

Yes. I have a friend who is a big noise in the Church and she watches the soaps. She even asks me what has happened if she misses a show.
Like everyone else has said....there are a lot worse things you could be doing. And some soaps tackle issues that you might never otherwise encounter, thereby broadening your mind. If you don't mind my saying so, maybe your husband and your friend would benefit from watching a few.....they sound in need of having their minds broadened a bit.....

I watch soap operas CBS I and don't be fooled many people do. My husband loves them too. Of course I record them and fast forward through the boring parts. When my husband was in Evangelism , our local pastor came over while YR was on, of course he had something to say about it, but the next day he came over at the same time, the show was already on and he miss the intro, and the first question he ask was" Did Sharon hit whoever that was coming in the door" Funny huh!

Girl I love soaps when it hits 1:00pm im watching my soaps I'm a christian and there is nothing wrong with watching soap operas, if they are bad then so is everything else that comes on tv.

I watch Days of Our Lives and sometimes I'll keep the TV on Passions. I think that just about any kind of TV show will "rot your brain" and some people do think that they're not any good. They don't really have a moral value but they're kind of entertaining if not repetitive.

I am a Christian who watches soaps. I know that they are fantasy but I love the Lord more. the ones who are judging you, next time look at what they watch. I bet you they can tell you who Susan Lucci is and what show she is on.
