I'm changing my name in december, but can't decide. I've narrowed it down to three. Which one do you like better?

Just so everyone knows before someone says something to me, I think a name should be considered art & if if it isn't I didn't know what category to put this question in, so here it is!

My mom doesn't care. She's the one that's going to pay for it. It's my Christmas present. Besides, I can't go around with a name that I hate (Traci Marie) just because if I change it someone will be upset. They'll eventually get over it, & if they don't it's their problem. (Yes, I'm in a bad mood today.)

Amethyst Melodi, It is original and very pretty. Have you thought about Amethyst Skyemelodi? I was looking at it and if you say it fast and as one word Skyemelodi sounds really awesome. Good luck, and I am glad to see someone stepping out and changing their name to what they want.......... no matter what the underline reason is.

Have to agree with the others who say the first thought that popped up was "porn star". The names seem too contrived.
As a business owner who has to wade through resume after resume, I have to be honest with you. The overly "creative" names are a huge turn off. If you want to have a more lyrical name, please don't be creative with the spelling. It's the most annoying thing in the world to have to keep looking up someone's name because their spelling is so weird. I'd rather not even bother with it by not interviewing the person with the funky name. Just think about that part of it.
The other side, though, is that it's fine if you want to change your name. I appreciate that you're considering the name that your dad wanted. But I would ask that you spell it the "normal" way (and I speak as someone whose name is not spelled "normally"). Don't invite controversy because it's not productive and doesn't raise people's impressions of you. A "traditional" name will set you apart from all the porn star names in this world.

I think all of those names are "retarded"- who honestly would want to be named those awful names? No offense dear but the name you were given at birth should mean something you. You should never change your name until/unless you get married. What horrible names you have chosen. Think about when you are 50- honestly- would you like to know a grandma named Amethyst? For gods sakes- don't change your name.

First of all. If you are indecisive on what to legally rename yourself then you probably shouldn't. That would be like buying a car before you have made up your mind on whether you want a motorcycle, or a truck.
Second of all, all the names you listed sound like pornstars.
It seems like that if you don't like your name it may be a problem with you and how you view yourself more than a problem with the name. Kind of like if you don't like your nose. It's part of you, and sure you may change it if you want to, but what if you were meant to find someone who thought your original nose was beautiful?
What if the person you were supposed to meet and fall in love with decides to opt for your friend because he doesn't want to introduce a girlfriend with a "pornstar" name to his parents?

Seriously, those names will only make your like worse. Trust me! Stick with what you've got!
Yeah, and they do sound a little pornographic. Or like Rock Star Daughter names.

There is nothing more beautiful than your first name but it's your live and your decission if you want to change it than it's o.k as long as your happy with it btw I would choose Melodi Starre
