Try the patch. You put in on 1 time a week for 3 weeks. The 4th week leave it off and you will have your cycle. It's easier than remembering a pill every day. And if it's OK with your OBGYN you can even wear a patch every week for up to 3 months and only have your period 4 times a year. There are also some pills that give you that option. The side effects of the patch are the same as the pill. And just as effective.

Orth Tricyclen is good - low hormone pill. I never got any side effects from it. So is Yasmin. Estrostep is good to - low in hormones - I had no side effects either. Estrostep is also good for acne. The patch I would not recommend - I'm not sure if they discontinued the patch or not yet as women were getting blood clots from it and I heard on the news that a young woman died from it.

I've been on birth control pill for ages; it helped my period and had no side effects: I've been using Tryphasil for 6 years and it's great. It goes with the natural cycle of the monthly hormones. Every year I do a physical to check the risk of effects.

Well so far as I know the pill is still the safest form other than celibacy. My doctor took my daughter off the patch because it was known to cause blood clots, IUD's have been known to tear the uterus, the shot has been found to cause headaches and severe bleeding when going off from it. Everybody is different and I think you should try whatever your doctor recommends for your age and body type.

i was on patches for a while, attracted by the apparent low occurence of side-effects (i get enough migraines as it is), and for the first few months it was great, they actually made me feel better than usual, sorted out a lot of body issues i had. later, however, they turned nasty because for some reason they acted on me like powerful tranquilizers, i never felt any real emotion anymore, everything that happened to me generated the same indifferent response, eventually that got me so depressed that i went off them. still, i do know people who love them and experience no side effects whatsoever. it's really about trying the different options and finding it out for yourself.

I've been on the pill for seven years for hormonal therapy. I take Desogen and have never had a problem with it--no weight gain, mood swings, bad PMS, etc.
My sister tried the shot, and it was the worst thing ever. she said that it turned her insane--she was irrational, volitile, depressed. It nearly destroyed her marriage.
The pill is always your best bet.

Ive used triphasil 21 since I was a teen and never had a problem. I would not do the shot, I don't know many who have liked it.
