well i have the pain for about two weeks but it was just a slight pain. I woke in middle of night with a hard pain there and it seems to be causing pain in my back now. I do have an appointment for this afternoon. but thought I'd get some feed on what it might be. I am thinking it is more than gas.

Sounds like Gall Bladder trouble. Especially if eating a fatty meal makes it worse. Get an Ultrasound. Another test is called a HIDA Scan.

I'm not a doctor but it sounds like it could be gas. Gas can build up in maybe different parts of the body. Or sometimes this happens after you just finished running.

Do you have radiating pain in your back? Is it about in the same place in the front and back? It could be the gall bladder. Just depends on all of your symptoms.

No one here will likely be qualified to answer.

Please schedule an appointment with your physician to determine the cause of the pain.

Good luck!

Could just be a strained muscle. It is NOT apendicitis, that's lower in your abdomen closer to your hipbone on the right side. Good luck. ;)
