tampons and sanitary napkins are two different things. Tampons are a plug of absorbent material inserted into the vagina to stem the flow of blood during a woman's period. A sanitary napkin (aka pad) is a disposible absorbant pad worn on a woman's underwear sticky side down to absorb the flow of blood during a woman's period.

no, tampons are different from sanitary napkins. Sanitary napkins are pads. Tampons actually go inside your vagina so it's a lot less messy.

Tampons and pads are both used by women during there period. Pads are used externally because they have a sticky back that you stick to your underwear. Tampons are worn internally in the vagina. It absorbs the blood before it leaves your body.
