If you have a problem with your boss, you should discuss it with him/her behind closed doors. Remember to attack the behavior, not the person. Tell your boss what he/she did and how it made you feel. The good bosses will take what you said to heart and apologize, the bad ones will spin it to make it sound like it's your fault. BE CAREFUL about sharing your opinions about your boss with others, and be especially careful with talking about situations you've had with your boss. Gossip runs rampant in any workplace, and if it gets back to your boss that you're saying bad things about him/her, your life at work could become very miserable very quickly. In a perfect world, you'd leave a job where you have a bad boss and get another job with a good boss, but we all know it's not that simple. Even if your boss is the world's biggest @$$, don't be the one telling everyone that. Speak your peace with your boss and then let it go, regardless of the outcome. If you're not happy with the outcome, consider moving to another section or getting another job.

If they don't care ... then what do you hope to accomplish?

Your boss really isn't in charge of meeting your emotional needs. Some bosses have more empathy than others, but going on and on about your "feelings" at work will hurt you in the long run.

Hmmm the other party. Is that your boss? If you aren't happy with another co-worker I would try to resolve it with them first. If it's your boss I would choose your words really carefully. Don't get upset or frustrated and take it in a cool professional matter. You need to be able to feel confident in yourself and don't bring any co-workers in on it. I hoped this helped Good Luck.

As a boss, I expect my employees to come to me with any problems or concerns.

If you have a problem with your boss, calm down; gather your thoughts..then bring it to his/her attention. It's good to let them know your feelings without all the emotion..Hope that makes sense.
