When I hook up a utility trailer to my truck(2002 F150- supercrew) the running lights on the trailer work, the signal lights work, but the brake light do not work on the trailer. I have checked the ground and reconnected it and wiring is standard 4-wire hookup. When I have the running lights on and apply the brakes, the running lights shut off. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

does your ford have a seperate turn signal from the brake light. if it does you will need a convertor to add the brake light back into the system to run the brake/turn signal lights on the trailer. also make sure the trailer lights are hooked up right and the bulbs are in correctly, my suggestion, try it on another truck and see if they work correctly. and which ground are you checking the one on the trailer or truck, dont rely on the ball mount to ground correctly
