i have lumps on my genital area, they are painless smooth bumps that are hard to pop but that have a thick cheesy substance in them, and they do not burst or cause ulcers except it can get itchy, and i am just very worried that i have genital herpes.

No. You have a cyst. Women get them sometimes. I think they're called Batholomew's Cyst's. Not an STD. Sometimes they can be painful, sometimes not.

If they become painful you can have them lanced but usually they go away after awhile. Just try to wear looser cotton underwear if they start to hurt.

(p.ds. genital herpes is very painful, and are not smooth-they look like red open sores that kind of glaze over and hurt badly. If you want to see pictures to be sure, e-mail me and I'll find you some online.)

Go to the gyno..it's the only way you can be sure. She will prescribe you something to help whatever you have. You dont want to let something go unchecked though, it can make it alot worse that it is now. Genital Warts (HPV) left untreated, can cause cervical cancer. So i would go to the doctor right away so it doesnt go any farther. Good Luck!

Best get yourself to the doctor or clinic for HIV/AIDS and STD testing. And don't touch another person until after the test results are back. If they come back negative, wear a condom every time! If they come back positive, you will have to disclose your disease with every new partner so that person can decide whether they want a relationship with you or not.

Here's the thing- if you THINK you might have an STD- you should call the nearest STD clinic and find out when their drop-in hours are. The following site should provide basic info about where to call- if you dont see a clinic listed, please feel free to contact the department of public health in your state and ask where the free STD clinics are located. http://www.ncsddc.org/programsites.htm

GO TO YOUR DOCTOR OR PLANNED PARENTHOOD FOR DX ASAP......THIS IS NOT ONE THAT YOU SHOULD TAKE ADVICE ON HERE FOR.

Do not have sex until you are able to go to your md to be checked out.
After you have been checked out DO NOT HAVE UNPROTECTED SEX. Genital herpes does not EVER go away. If you don't already have it, make sure that you don't get it.

No one in here can really help you with this unless they have the same thing and if it is std you need to get to your Doctor anyway.
