It is possible to be pregnant and have period. My best friend had her period the whole nine months, every 28 days. Her doc said some women do this, but I can't remember what he said causes it. (its been over 7 years)

Well if the placenta is over the cervix it can cause bleeding and if not careful a miscarrage. I had this condition with my daughter. I bled for 3 months. 4-6 months. I also had my period with my first baby until I was 3 months and never popped a positive urine test until I was 7 1/2 months pregnant with him. That still baffles the DR. I had the morning sickness with him, I had the tummy to prove I was pregnant and the blood test...but not a urine test. and at 7 1/2 months i finally got a slightly positive reading 8 months a full blown reading. As for bleeding yes we have a mucus plug but it prevents things from entering the uterus but lets some things filter out. ie..discharge and blood if need be.

It is possible to have periods when a woman is pregnant, although its best to have a check up with a doctor to make sure everything is ok and normal.
I know that the periods are possible but what I question is how a woman can be 6-9 months pregnant and still doesn't realise it I mean forget about the period what about al the other symptoms of pregnancy?? I just don't get that and I'm always suprised when I hear about women who go into hospital from stomach pains and then are told that they are in labour!!!!

Yes, this is possible lot of women will experience spotting during their pregnancy. However, if it become more of a flow and less spotting then you need to consultant your doctor immediatelty this could be signs of several serious problems. Like tubal pregnancy or a miscarriage. I was one of the people that was 6-8 months pregnant without knowing. I was on the Depo shoot for birth control and had not had a period in years. I had no signs of pregnancy until I was almost 7 months, I went to my doctor and they did a pregnancy test and found out that I was pregnant and they were unsure of the due date because of the fact that I had not had a period in so long. When they send me for an ultra sound this was in the beginning of November and I was due in January, and then during that time, I had to be induced because I delevoped Toxcima and Preclamcia.

I really don't understand either. But, I do know some women have implantation bleeding. The bleeding comes from the egg attaching to the wall and its different from a period but some women think they are having a period. However, the bleeding throughout pregnancy I don't understand.

If you are pregnant and bleeding PLEASE call your doctor. I just lost a baby girl on Friday at 21 weeks. I noticed I was spotting and went to the hospital, but my water had broken and they could not save her. PLEASE CALL.

That's a good question....I've often wondered that myself......I knew a girl that supposedly didn't know she was preg until the baby came out.......which I found odd...
