The display panel on the machine states "Spot senor is out of calibration." I contacted Hp and they told me I would need to get a new machine because it is a hardware issue. Then I contacted a company who fixes printers and they said it needs to be cleaned at a cost of $75.00. I gotta believe there is someone out there that can tell me how to clean the printer and save me $75.00. Can you help?

Next all in one, make sure it is not an HP. I've had 5-6 of them and every one of them dumped on me. Every one. You'll go through the same headaches. The last one was a newer model (hoping it would be different) it never worked right from the box. Had to take it back within 30 days. Never worked.
Try cleaning the jets (nozzles), and blowing out the printer. You won't be able to get it fixed to last. I'm telling you now. Don't ever get another HP. Check out this video:

Usually there is a warranty. Is it over?
There must be HP authorised dealers in your city. Or go to their site in the internet and zero-down to the authorised dealers listed against your city's name. Contact them. If yours is under warranty they will do it. For some countries HP has 'on site' and 'off site' Annual Maintenance Contracts (payable once an year depending on the age of the product). 'On site' mean they would come and service the product 'off site' means you will have to take it to them. Try out these options. You may save $ 75 and may be you could take out your family for a li'l picnic and spend the saved money! Good luck!

You can. Uninstall the software, download the update drivers from HP's website then reinstall it. I had a similar problem with my all-in-one and this fixed it right away. if this does not work call a freind or familly member who is proficient in computers. If you work at an office, ask IT tech about your problem and they could provide some asisstance.

Take it to the shop. If you try to do it yourself, you're likely to damage the printer and have to pay even more for someone to fix it.

Would you try to fix your television set if it quit working? No - you'd take it to a repairman. Be smart and do the same here.

i will recommened taking it to a professional who knows abt the printers.
the sensor is located in the most sensitive area of the printer, if any wrong step, your printer is gone.
so i will recommend it takiing it to a repairman

have you tried running the self cleaning and reclibration for the printer.
if you go t preferences, there should bea service tab and you can recalibrate and run self cleaning tests there.
