If you use a tampon there is no reason why you can't swim anywhere unless you have shark fever then I would give the surf a miss.Even if you don't like tampons like me I only use them for when I want to go swimming and it's that time of the month.

Only if you use a tampon. Spakrs said that you can yet you need to use one. If you cough or sneeze you will leak. This is because there is a higher pressure outside your body than inside. This can possibly hold back your period yet if you get out you can leak, also if you move wrong. I would use a tampon, and not risk the embarrassment.

If it's absolutely necessary to get into the pool wear a tampon instead of a pad.

Sure you can, your period will stop when you go in water but you should wear a tampon, if you don't feel comfortable wearing one just wear a pad but wear a pear of shorts over your bathing suit in the water. Beleive me you will be fine i have done it before.

Of course. Just use a tampon. Also, the flow often slows significantly or altogether stops in water. You'll be fine.
