If your wall is say 4 feet high and has a base of say 2 ft/600mm wide and narrows to 12inches/300mm at the top on average you are going to need approximately 1 tonne of stone for every 2 metres of wall. That would work out at about 20 tonnes of stone. So to be on the safe side and to allow for posts at each end I'd order 24 tonnes. If theres some left over it can always be kept for another project.
The trick inbuilding a stone wall is in sorting your stone and getting it graded to different sizes and shapes. Also make sure you actually see what quality of stone you are getting from the quarry.Dont buy it without first making sure its been seen so you know the colour and sort of face the stone will have.

Is the wall 2 feet high or 6 feet high?
Are the foundations 2 feet deep or only 6 inches deep?

depends how big the rock is
the smallest rocks are grains of sand, no longer than 100 microns wide
you will need at least 40,000 grains of sand (at least for the length part not the height or depth)

if the rock is ayers rock for australia (1492 feet) you will need .312 of the rock

it really depends
