UN Resolution 1701 called for Hez to unconditionally them. So far Hez hasn't done that. Doesn't this mean that Hez is already violating Resolution 1701?

Good question! Israel, under pressure from the world, has caved in without meeting their goal of getting the 2 captive soldiers back. It is outrageous!

The UN resolution did not have the return of the 2 Israeli soldier as a condition for truce. Rather, it strongely "urged" Hezbullah to return the kidnapped soldiers. The UN is a useless organization made up of cronies, headed by a prejudicial leader named Kofi Annan. I fear that the 2 are dead, but it is the duty of humans to return the loved to their families. Israel should not have stopped the war until this objective was met. It failed.

Hezbullah is intent on terrorising Israel. It is supported by Syria and Iran. Israel has left Lebanon in 2000, and since Hezbullah, with the help of Iran, has amassed munition and missiles they are now using against Israel.

Lebanon has been occupied and controlled by Syria for decades. The beautiful Lebanon, the French Riviera of the Middle East was destroyed in the Lebanese civil war in the 60's and 70's. The Christian minority that ruled Lebanon and brought it to its splendor has been overtaken by the vilolent Islamic extremists.

Hezbollah is accepted in parts of Lebanon because the population truly has absolutely no say and no choice in the matter. If you oppose Hezbollah, you die. The Lebanese Prime Minister Harriri was assassinated for opposing the Syrian occupation. The current Lebanese government is helpless.

Lets address how the current situation began:

BUT FOR Hezbollah going on Israeli soil, killing 8 and kidnapping 2 Israeli soldiers, Israel would not have been on the offensive to destory Hezbollah. This is not a war on Lebanon. It is a war on Hezbollah and its backers (Syria and Iran). Since the Lebanese army that numbers about 150,000 soldiers is unwilling and/or unable to remove Hezbollah's 5,000 terrorists, Israel will.

Israel wants peace and recognition of its existence. The Muslim extremists, including Syria and Iran regimes want Israel wiped off the face of the earth, and have repeatedly said so. Israel has absolutely no interest in claiming Lebanon, or any other Arab country.

The Muslim world has missed every opportunity to make peace with Israel. When a Muslim country and brave leader did make peace with Israel (the late Egyptian President Anwar al-Sadat), he was assassinated by Iranian-backed group.

Unfortunately for the modern world, the Muslims have been conditioned by their dictatorial regimes to have one thought, the same as the regime. There is no spectrum of opinions in the Muslim world, there is no freedom of expression, freedom of thought, freedom to live life freely (exception is in Turkey).

It's time for Muslims to take accountability for their religion and culture. Stop spinning, and address the fact that the Muslim culture is one of the most oppressive and violent cultures, against its own people, and certainly against other cultures.

For those who believe that the extremist element in Islam is small, the numbers are staggering. There are 1.2 billion Muslims in this world. Lets take a very liberal view that only a very small percentage of Muslims are exterme, while the rest of the Muslim world is very peaceful. So if only 10% of Muslims have extreme point of views, and may be a threat, and must be dealt with, meaning dealing with 120 million Muslims! How about 1%? Then you must deal with 12 million Muslims. How about 1/10 of a percent? Then you must deal with 1.2 million Muslims. The numbers are staggering! How do you propose dealing with even the "very low" figures of 1.2 million Muslim extremists?

It would be to the benefit of Lebanon, Israel, the Middle East, and the World to rid of Hezbollah, Hamas, the Syrian and Iranian regime. It must be done to finally have a chance for peace in the region and the world.

To start with Israel has never respected any U.N resolution in the past. Secondly Hez. will never return the 2 soldiers if the Lebanese prisoners that have been in israel jails since 1979 are not released

they are a bargaining chip even now. So far they have not bent to any of the Israel demands and in their minds that makes them the ones with the power. No one knows if they are still alive or not but most likely they are so they can be used. Hez. don't really care if their people get killed. They have gained a lot from this war and are using every thing they can to continue to stay in the lime light.

Yes, and they've never even came into compliance of 1559 either.
The UN resolutions are pretty worthless on paper, since the UN can't do anything ( militarily or else ) to enforce their mandates.

They should've let the IDF and IAF get the job done, but Kofi Annan is too busy being a bureaucrat.

well they just might if they are not dead anyways Israel is starting negotiations with them and Istrael reportedly said that they will handover 13 captured Hezbollah militants and some other bodies for just their two captured Israeli solidiers . We Shall see .... P.S. UN resolutions are more or less suggestions since they really have no way of enforcing anything but it is a nice thought an international organization with real power

Because their ransom was not met. The demand for the return of the soldiers was for Israel to release several women and children who are captives in Israeli prisons.

because they are probably dead. hezbollah is headed by mindless idiots who just keep up their war games even though they don't have to. they are lead by low iq militants who think it's cool to kidnap israelis and throw their country and neighboring countries into war. they are probably giving each other high fives whenever someone dies, whichever side they are on, because they caused it. i can see them sitting around a tv saying, we made this happen. we are hot!
