As for sources, Gerry Spence had a TV show on CNN. One day he listed the names and amounts of each politician who took tobacco money. Most were Republican. Shorty thereafter, Spence's show was cancelled. What happened to free speech and press?

Because the Republicans are in power, and will whore themselves out for money.

Hell... if they knew that the Religious Right would support them, they'd have whore-houses above every Starbucks!

Maybe his show was cancelled because he only did propoganda stories with little basis in fact. Why do most Democrats come from tobacco growing regions? And why are there more millionaire Democrats than Repubilcans? And why do you care so much about tobacco alcohol is worse and you never hear anyone badmouthing it. Also Why do Dem and libs always want to decry the use of tobacco and then place punitive taxes on it saying it will go to help medical cost or children then tax it again but use the money elsewhere? Don't they realize that taxing it so much causes people to quit buying them and so they get less money from the taxes. Then the dummies just add or increase the taxes again instead of looking somewhere else for the funds or fixing the problems tro begin with. And why can't liberal Democrats see that tax cuts do help the economy John F. Kennedy even said it when he was President is because they just want to tax you out of the middle class so they can be the rich haves and the rest of us the poor overtaxed havenots?

I was just wondering why 10 out of 10 of the U.S. Business sectors have endorsed Bush (R) for president? I have concluded that it is all about the money.
Do you think they care about your health? After putting that label on the ciggarette pack warning smokers about the risks, they're off the hook. What access to health care do you think smokers will have in the future? Look who's on the board of directors at the largest health services company in the nation. (Click the link) Thats right! William H.T. (Bucky) Bush. They want to make money baby, not cure smokers. To be fair though, even they have given more money to the republican pary than the democratic party. This special treatment for the big business interests is the reason the Republicans are winning. They have more money on their team. If you were a politician wouldn't you want to play on the winning side? Thats why Schwarzenegger gave up acting for republican politics to become governor of California. He knows where the money is. Some people may try to convince you he did it for humanitarian purposes, that he already has plenty of money, I won't.
Your last question was what happened to freedom of speech?
Another time, another ten points.

Republicans are traditionally "for" big business and corporations. If there is legislation that would harm the tobacco companies, they will block it or now that they control the house and the senate, they will not let any of it out of committee to be voted on by the full congress. They couldn't give a rats @ss about you, your health, or your well being.

because all politicians are selfish people. The only difference is republicans candidates tend to be more ignorant and dumb than its democratic contemporary. I'd like to differ only to Mr. Comuo (sp.?) from NY. He brushed off the mass casualty and death of 20 lebanese children sternly for isreali voters here. What a heartless fucwit.

Just because you say this is true doesn't make it so.

However, if it is true, then I would say it's due to the Republican Party stance of "less government is better." The Democrats tend to believe in bigger government and more government control; hence, more litigation against tobacco companies. I wish the government would sue the oil and energy companies instead!

I think if people want to smoke, they should have that right. I'm not a big fan of it, but it's a personal choice.

When are we going to ban obesity? That "condition" is costing health care and our pockets a hell of a lot!

The National Restaurant association is a republican sponsor. So when dems (for political purposes) try to pass legislation like smoking bans, the republicans block it. Logical conclusion that cigarette companies support that...

The same reason the homosexual groups give the most money to the democrats, knowing that gay sex spreads disease all over the world.
