How come when the curse is lifted all the effected people become mortal again but not the monkey???

the monkey is mortal, but there's a scene after the credits that shows the monkey taking a coin back out of the cursed chest.

Hee hee. I wasn't sure about it so I had to read the answers. That settled it for me. Now I can go back and enjoy the second Pirates movie without wondering what's up with that creepy little monkey.

maybe it effects monkeys differently or maybe it still had one of those coins... thats a good question though... i wondered that myself when the monkey got capped...
