They have had a nice run, but I don't think they would actually win the World Series.
But hey, I wouldn't mind eating my words, even though I would rather see the Cards winning it all.

The LA Dodgers are indeed on fire and they WILL make the playoffs and they COULD win the world series. Here's the facts:
--The new additions of veterans (Maddux, Lugo) and great players (Betemit), coupled with up and coming players (Martin, Ethier) is totally working. Coletti got lucky as a GM, but results still speak for themselves.
--Teams which are in ther division lead as of 8/13 win the pennant over 92% of the time.
--The rest of the NL west sucks.
--The Mets are playing over their head, and Pedro has just hit the wall. The Cardinals are streaky and though they killed the Dodgers this year, we could catch them on a bad streak and sweep them back.
--Then, it's all about the AL--and who knows who could win.
I think the Dodgers are going ALL THE WAY

Any team that makes the playoff has a chance to win the World Series, given that a playoff series is so short and involves a great amount of chance.
The Dodgers need to focus on making it first, and then take their chances in October.

If they keep their play up they have a chance. They should make the playoffs either way. They are loaded with infielders and Greg Maddux will help. They made some good trades before the deadline, including stealing Wilson Betemit from the Braves. I don't know why the Braves let him go. The Dodgers can definitely use him.

They'll make the playoffs. But lets be serious here... an American League team is going to win the series. They do just about every year.

I think 3/4 of the AL would kill them.
1/4 would not even let them win a game in the world series

your right they are hot right now but i dont think they will win the world series but they might make pass the first round the playoffs but thats it

Are the smoking hot?....you have to light it to smoke it don't you?......eventually the "smokin" will wear out and reality sink in.....they are "pretenders"...they will fall before too long......but that Maddux is unbelievable

they cant stay healthy and they seem to go on runs like this all year then they lose 19 or 20 games and their bullpen could use some help
