Very good point Lisa i will watch the answers with interest, i think they would say that to be "cured" you would need to have faith in the first place so i guess until you actually "see the light" there is just no hope for a cure which in my opinion is a cause for celebration lol.
Quinn says that she see's it as a sin well Quinn how can it be a sin to love someone and if god made us (and i hope that he did by the way) why did he make us like that, i didnt chose to fancy women you know it just kinda crept up on me as i grew.Is god really gona cast me out for loving someone you say i shouldnt ,even though i try to be a good helpful and respectful person. Well i could go on about the really evil people in this world who do some wicked things, then find God and all is forgiven but this will turn into a rant.
By the way Lisa sorry for hijacking your question but these kinda comments from people like Quinn get my back up.

Personally this is what I think and I know I'll get hell for it from the super spirituals but here it is anyway. The reason the bible states homosexuality is wrong is because of the controversy it causes between people - people judge it and hate it and therefore as a gay person it has a huge impact on your happiness. I have no problem with gay people, but even in today's more understanding society it must still be kind of hard to deal with because there will be always people who are ugly about it.
As far as healings go - they are certainly not fake - at least not all maybe some but not all. Homosexuality cannot be "dealt with" in that way anyway. You can't heal it as if it were cancer. It's an emotional state not a state of deterioration in the body.
BUT - if you (or whoever) as a homosexual person were to decide that you did not actually WANT to be gay - i think you could come to God and have the burden taken. Because Jesus was meant to have carried our sorrows - and if you find it a sorrowful thing in your life then that is how religion (and I hate that word but don't know what else to use) can be of help.
Unfortunately christains on the whole are such awfully terrible people that God gets a bad name and he isn't actually seen as well as he should be. Christains are so busy being christians that for the most part they forget about God and the fact that he is supposed to benefit lives and not condemn them.
At the end of the day - being "gay" is no bigger sin than telling your mom that you're sleeping at Sarah's house when actually you're going camping with John.
Everyone is a sinner - everything that isn't of faith is sin so NO ONE is even REMOTELY perfect in that. God's guidelines are only there for the sole purpose of man's happiness. End of story. So as easy as it is to point fingers at someone for being gay - well I'm a sarcastic cow for the most part and I reckon that's probably worse.

Good point. What I see of so called "faith healers" are phony to begin with. Those who claim to be healed are pick ahead of time and put on show for the audience to see that have been cured. Remember Jim Jones did the same thing. Beside if we were all cured who would the religious right and the Republicans have to attack for our evil ways?

They can'y "cure" you because there is no cure --- being gay is natural --- hating/seeing gays as an abomination is bigotry - pure and simple. They all come up with reasons for their ignorance but it's generally BS or someone elses way of thinking... as far as Bible quotes most so called Christians don't follow their own preaching - the Bible says that a lot of other things are abominations too ---
Exodus 21:7 "And if a man sell his daughter to be a maidservant, she shall not go out as the menservants do." - Therefore, you are allowed to sell your children into slavery! Do it now!
Leviticus 15:19-24 "And if a woman have an issue, and her issue in her flesh be blood, she shall be in her impurity sever days: and whosoever toucheth her shall be unclean until the even...." - Right, so any woman who is in her period of menstrual uncleanliness is not supposed to be touched, right? Therefore you must ask every woman you meet if she's on her period. I bet you do that.
Exodus 35:2 "Six days shall work be done, but on the seventh day that shall be to you an holy day, a sabbath of solemn rest to the LORD: whosoever doesth any work therin shall be put to death." - Ah. How many of you work on Sundays? Or know people who do? Death to them and you!
Leviticus 11:10 "And all that have not fins and scales in the seas, and in the rivers, of all that move in the waters, and of all the living creatures that are in the waters, they are an abomination unto you," - There's that word again, abomination, just like homosexuality. So eating shellfish (like lobster, oh the irony) is just as bad as homosexuality, right? It's the same word!
Leviticus 21:20 "Or crookbackt, or a dwarf, or that hath a blemish in his eye, or is scurby, or scabber, or hath his stones broken;" - If you read back a bit, it's basically stating that anyone with any of these conditions may not approach the altar of God. But WAIT! A blemish in his eye? Oh no! If you wear glasses, you may not approach! Shortsightedness is a blemish!
Leviticus 19:19 "Ye shall keep my statutes. Thou shalt not let thy cattle gender with a diverse kind: thou shalt not sow thy field with two kinds of seed: neither shall there come upon thee a garment of two kinds of stuff mixed together." - Seriously now. How many of you wear clothes of more than one type of material?
Ahh, the eternal and unchanging word of God! Great, isn't it. Now before any of you respond with "But they're NOT that important!", I want you to think about it. If you follow Leviticus 18:22, you follow Leviticus 19:19, Exodus 35:2, and all the others.
Come on people...are you really Christian or are you just making excuses???

Wait a moment, I can't stop laughing! I think that's one of the best questions I've heard asked in quite a few days! Those here in the Bible Belt where I live (East Texas) who think that homosexuality is an illness or disease believe that God will cure us only if we "believe" in God and "believe" that he will cure us. I went to church and asked the pastor, "What if I believe with all my heart that God saved me and will make me what HE wants me to be?" His response was, "Then you won't be gay anymore."..Well, folks, I'm still homosexual...and I'm still Christian! (So now, I "believe with all my heart" that many so called "Christians" simply use the Bible to preach what bigotry and hate they believe themselves, not the love and mercy that God truly places in our paths.) Go figure!

because if they could cure homosexuality...what would they have to bit** about next? They have to give the perception that they are at least needed for something...if they cured every "sin" what would be their usefullness when done? Southern evangilists are no more about religion than BP or Exxon is about being good stewards to the environment...it's all about business and money!

For the benefit of some of your answerers, I am a parent of a homosexual child, now an adult of course. I would like to assure everyone, that is happens not through CHOICE, although most would not wish to change. It is not a disease, or impediment.
My daughter is a happy and kind person, whom I am very proud of, would not change her for the world. She is who she is, not living a lie for a start. If her only fault is to LOVE someone of the same sex, well, hey I can live with that! xxx

Hehehehe!
I wouldn't want to be cured. Or touched by an evangelist, for that matter.
I think anyone who tries to pray away someone else's gay is actually cursing them. What kind of mean person would try to separate someone from their lover, their home, their friends, etc?! If I as a Witch tried doing that to a fundagelical, they would say I was cursing them, and they would be *right*!

They tried to cure the gay men. They held out thier hands and touched our heads and yelled we're healed.
Opps, they placed thier hand on the wrong head. Then ended up playing with us. Just ask all those chatholic priests....lol
