Passenger profiling at airports is not about racism it is about playing the odds. If you are dealing with the potential threat of hundreds of people dying as a result of one cowards actions then you should do everything necessary to maximise your chances of successfuly preventing it. As the current threat is Islamic extremists then it would make sense to stop more Islamic people than otherwise. This is maximising your resources to catch the potential threat and increases the likelyhood of success.

This isn't to say that only these people are capable of such acts as obviously we have had the IRA, and any number of other terror plots and wars throughout history. In the modern world though the most common threat is of this type. Lets not forget that targetting airlines is indescriminate, as are the terrorists. They don't give a damn who they kill so long as they kill as many people as possible and they don't have to live to face the consequences of their actions. They will happily kill men, women children, babies and anyone else on that plane regardless of race, religion or anything else.

If the current terrorist threat was coming from some group of extremists to whom I would fit into a descrption of a likely (or significantly more likely) suspect than others boarding the plane I would be happy to be stopped, searched and have questions asked of me. I would know that I had nothing to hide and that my country was doing it's best to protect the lives of everybody using international transport.

Stop blowing up planes and maybe, just maybe we will look at everyone equal. Some muslims crack me up.. "you cant do that it violates our rights" ... Well Muslim extremists violate our livleyhood and make the entire muslim religion look bad. We dont profile Mormons cause as far back as I can think I have never heard of a Mormon running into a Jewish center and shooting women, I have never seen a Buddist flying a plane into a building and I am downright sure I have never seen a Jehoviah Witness cutting off the head of someone who has done NOTHING to them on tv.

Police your own people and maybe the world will stop hating you.

But that is not what they want. They want a worldwide Jihad.

This is only the beginning. Say what you will..... You know deep down in your heart, although it sounds mean and nasty, but you know I am right.

as long as all the profiling is arab and not black or hispanic... i'm okay with that.... Just a little bit of justice in a racist world... Thats one place in America where the rest of us are not the prime suspects.

Do you know I had to speak to the manager at Walgreens the other night cause I was profiled and followed by first employee and then police officer? I guess I took too long selecting my item and they decided I was a thief! Dang!

So I say more power to the TSA, stop every Muslim Arab looking guy and girl on the plane! And dont forget to check under the burka. You could steal a bunch of stuff and hide it there!

We need to start racially profiling at security checkpoints, as all of those who have committed terrorist acts over the past several years have been 20-something Arab males. Why WOULDN'T we profile them? At least then we can stop making old people get out of their wheelchairs at airports. That's just embarrassing.

The liberals would never let us get away with doing that without making a big F-ing deal about it, though, which would immediately tip off potential terrorists and push them to try to recruit more "American" looking terrorists; Timothy McVeighs, for example.

Profiling doesn't mean you ONLY check 20-something Arab males, it just means you start with them ... and of course anyone else who looks a little shady. Until we get a rash of those "American" types committing acts of terror, profiling will catch more terrorists than it will miss.

We need very badly to profile at airports. Racism is not an issue. I should be stopped routinely because I look too much like what they should be looking for.

ANYONE could be a suspect. treat each person the same. check everyone-or check no one. I am happy to be searched because at least I know that airport security is doing their job!

I'd sooner they check and profile passengers than have a plane blown out of the sky and everyone on it killed. What are we supposed to do? Pussyfoot about for fear of offending people and let the terrorists get through? I don't think so.

Stop everyone
It is the fact money is more valuable than life
Otherwise these security checks would be getting used now
Not when it is too late
