Anyone out there know anything about "Jay-Z the Grey Album-DJ Dangermouse"? I like Gnarls Barkley and this CD was recommended to me after I ordered St Elswhere. Is it all hip-hop/rap music. I'm not a teenager so I don't know much about this music. I like all kinds of music and was curious as to whether this might be good to add to my collection.

grey album = AMAZING!

danger mouse uses an a cappella version of jay z's black album and couples it with instrumentals created from a multitude of samples from the beatle's white album.

and it's not supposed to be like any other of his albums or like any other hip hop album...he released it for the implicit purpose of encouraging mash-ups and mixes.

it really is a great album.

I like Gnarles Barclay and I also like Hip-Hop. However, I was really disappointed by the grey album. It's not like St Elsewhere at all and definitley not recommended if you don't like Hip-Hop.

Maybe try DJ Dangermouse's other collaboration with MF Doom, called 'DangerDoom'. This too is more Hip-Hop influenced but it's not as heavy as the grey album and a little more funky like Gnarles Barclay.

Hope this helps!

Danger Mouse is the man who does the beats for Gnarls Barkley. He made The Grey Album, a mix between Jay-Z's Black Album and The Beatles White album (black + white = grey)

It's really quite interesting. Danger Mouse is definately talented.
