How to make it function as a DVD burner/writer?
Do I need to install extra driver?
Or there is any software to install?

the problem could be Nero does not recognise you DVD drive
it happened to me so i upgraded Nero it then found my drive
try going to Nero site and upgrade the dvd rom drivers list

There's no such thing as an image drive. You just aren't using Nero correctly. The only time that a driver needs to be installed is if you try to use a DVD burner with any of the versions of Windows 98.

Install the software that came with it. You can also try updating your Nero software as new hardware does require software updates.
