You can use one with owner authorization. You can't buy one but you can use one and yes, I HIGHLY recommend to shoot on a gun range.

You can use one legally in a shooting range. Take your passport as a form of ID. If you have never fired a handgun before, I would advice you to use a range and get professional instruction on how to shoot. It is NOT as easy as it looks. Play safe and enjoy it, DO NOT mess about with a gun, you do not want to end up in an American jail for 60 years!!!
I have been to California several times and really enjoy shooting when I am there.

It depends on what state you end up in. They all have different laws from more severe to less severe. Call gun ranges wherever you end up. In California, many gun ranges will rent a gun to you for a minimal cost and you can shoot until you're happy. It might cost you 60 dollars total. Rent a revovler so you don't hurt yourself or anyone else.

If your going to Las Vegas go to The Gun Store on East Tropicana. You can shoot all types of handguns and real machine guns. There are many places like this in US so look on the net for the area you will be near when you come here.

You don't need to own a gun to get practice shooting one. When you get to the US, just called a local target range or gun club. They may have community programs that would enable you to do the shooting that you're seeking.
Please do not underestimate the need for some safety instruction first. That's important.

Good luck trying to get that onto a plane. And even if you got it here, the United States has enough laws restricting the Second Amendment that you might as well not have a gun. Period. Sorry for the disappointment mate.

You need a license and permit to have a gun in the U.S. You also cannot just fire anywhere, you could end up killing someone without even knowing it. Go to a firing range, there are plenty of them around.
