Somehow I don't think you're giving us the whole story. Wouldn't unimpeded freedom of movement for the hostage takers make it easy to take the hostages to Syria or Iran? Hamas isn't stupid. They know that Pal informers in conjuntion with IDF would be able to rescue any hostage held inside Gaza for too long.

Military and ex-military people understand this basic concept of tactical action. People who study military conflict understand this also.
But it is *so* refreshing to see people who don't understand the least about war feeling free to criticize and ridicule what they have no clue about.
