The dog should not be put down it was a victim for having stupid owners that were to lazy to properly introduce it to the new member of the family(the baby) properly......the parents should be charged for murder and sterilized.

The dog was only doing what comes naturally, defending its own area and food supply, the infant should not have been anywhere near a dogs bowl area anyway, the place where the dogs food is kept and the dog fed should be penned off while there is a crawling child, its not the dogs fault, but the owners

Surely the parents are at fault here. They've fed the dog and instead of making sure the baby can't get to the bowl they let it crawl around on the floor and obviously were not watching over the child as it managed to crawl all the way to the dogs bowl!

The parents should be prosecuted for child neglect. And the dog rehomed with responsible and suitable owners.

You dont get bad dogs you get bad owners. If the dog attacked the baby because it was near the food then the owners have encouraged the dog to be aggressive and it is not the dogs fault.

The dog should be removed from the care of the owners rehabilitated and re-homed.

What a terrible tragedy. The dog should be put down. I have a three month baby and we do not have any pets, to be honest I would not trust my baby with any dog and would not want my baby near any dogs, I know that may sound over cautious but that's the way I feel.

I see that we have finally got to the place in society that we value a dogs life over a humans. That is sick.It wouldn`t take long for me to do what needed to be done. The owners of the dog should face serious consequences and the dog should be destroyed.Do you think these people that are defending the dog wouldn`t kill a snake in the woods if it bit them?If they were in the woods, they would be on the snakes turf and he would be doing what came naturally, but I have no doubt that they would kill it.What`s the difference with a dog?Yes,there are bad dogs as well. Not every dog can be trained.they are as individual as other creatures, with their own personalities each. There are nice ones and bad ones.If humans can be bad, then common sence tells me that an animal can be bad.

U can't blame the dog, it was protecting it's food (it was a natural instinct) Pray that the little baby didnt suffer after the atteack and the parents should have their backsides kicked ofr having a baby crawling around the food bowl of a dog........they should know better, shame on them. They have paid the ultimate price for their stupidity....such a shame.

It's the parents fault, not the dogs. However, I'd be inclined to put the dog down as it clearly doesn't understand the pecking order in the family!

families having children and dogs MUST make sure the dog is not aggresive

the family will hate the dog - maybe never take it back

but i wouldnt say its the dogs fault !

i grew up in a family where we had dogs, my aunt baby sits and they have a huge german shepherd who never ever hurts any baby.

some dogs dont get along with kids - the parents should make sure theirs does !

Of course it's only natural for the dog to protect it's food, but would you really be able to carry on living with a pet that killed your baby? I don't think so!
