Space is not really empty, it just has a very low density. Vacuums form with differences in pressure. The extremely low density of space gives it a very low pressure. Like low pressure weather systems, air will flow into it, thus the vacuum. As far as the Earth falling, it is! The same way our moon is falling constantly around the earth. Look up space-time on the net. However the "pit" that you describe is for us, the Sun. Thus we "fall" (orbit) towards the sun as the moon "falls" towards us. Don't worry though we won't crash into the Sun any time soon :)

Space is an empty vacuum, indeed, however there is zero gravity. You are still thinking in reference to what you experience here on earth, where we are constantly feeling the effects of gravity.

Try to conceptualize space being a pool made out of rigid clear jelly. Imagine you jump into this jelly and go under the surface and become surrounded by jelly. You will not move that much, you are suspended in the jelly, that is what a zero gravity environment would feel like except that you are able to move around and do not feel the force of the jelly surrounding you.

Now if you look at a planet it is the same thing, however larger bodies in space such as stars and giant planets like jupiter, even earth for that matter, bend space due to their large mass and gravitational pull (which is the bend of space), like if your stretch your bed sheets and drop a basketball in the middle, the sheets bend and curve around the ball.

Vaccum action is created via air tension in an atmospheric ecosystem. it rather is likewise the reason of wind. it rather is to stability the air density. In area, everywehere is empty, it rather is extraordinarily plenty stability. while it come to special physique like stars and planet, the so call pit ought to be the gap-time warp created via mass. the bigger the mass, the extra serious warpping there is. Earth and sunlight has it very own "pit". they are pulling on one yet another in direction of one yet another. yet there additionally are momemtum and initia that shop one yet another from colliding.

Well, first there would have to be a pit. There isn't. Secondly, there would have to be a gravitational force in this pit pulling down on the solar system.
