When my wife was 14 years old she had abnormally large breasts for her age (double DD -E) and had a breast reduction (NOW a C-D). She is now almost 30 years old and we are in talks of having a child. She pretty much knows that she won't be able to breast feed but she asked if her breasts will still have milk in them? Can anyone explain how this will work? Thanks

Yes, they will still work as they should. The surgery removes a small pie slice wedge from the breast leaving most of it untouched. The breast size is reduced but it still works! Sort of like when my wife had a hysterecotomy - all the baby making stuff was gone but the playpen remained. In you case, everything still works as it should but the size is smaller and causes less pain in the shoulders and back.

The breast reduction does not remove anything related to milk or breast feeding. It is surgery to reduce the other tissue there - it is not like a barber comes by with a scissors and takes a little off the top.

There is no reason why she won't still lactate or be able to breast feed. A breast reduction would have removed skin and fatty tissue, but the milk ducts and mammory glands will not have been affected. When the nipple is repositioned, it is reattached to the area it was before, so there should not be any problems.
