If so, from what age?

My boyfriend and I are heavy pot smokers and we just had our first child in Feb. We have decided not to smoke with our daughter but not lie to her about our smoking if she ever asks us about it. We do not want to be the ones to smoke with her for the first time and we have decided we would not smoke with her until she is 18 years old and only if she approaches us about it. My boyfriend's mother smokes with us and he does not really have a mother/son relationship with her. He feels as if he is missing out on that and the pot smoking has been a huge obstacle in that. We also wanted her to make her own choice if she wanted to smoke pot or not. We can't say it is a healthy lifestyle and we don't want to subject her to something unhealthy if we don't have to. So, I would say age 18. Once your child is old enough to make their own decisions legally.

I don't have any kids and I don't smoke pot (anymore), but if kids decide they want to try something.....they will do it with our without the parents....whether it is alcohol, pills, weed, whatever...the question for all the people that say they wouldn't do that is, would you rather your child "try" something in a more controlled and supervised environment, or out with their friends driving up and down the road (esp. with alcohol)? They are gonna' do it regardless....there are some kids who won't because they are too "goody-goody," but most kids will at least be curious enough to try some of those things, and, yes, they can and will find a way to get their hands on it. I, personally, would rather have my kids at home if they want to do something like that.

Doing so would land them in jail and loss of parental rights to the state; if you want to orphan your own kids, light up.

No, I wouldn't but I know people that do. I personally don't think it is appropriate, but it works in other families.
