That is short - i beleive average height in US is about 5'10" and in the UK its about 5'9".
There is some confusion over cm converted into foot as well, so i wouldnt bother converting it. I.E i have seen 176cm being converted into 5'10" in America, when it is in fact 5'8".
But who cares - you've still got a few more years growing, so i reckon you should get to around 170cm AT LEAST.
In any case, if both your mother and your father are short, the chances are you will be too.
This isnt the end of the world though - there are a whole bevvy of beautiful and lonely midgets out there.

You're about 5'5" in English units. You are short than average but only maybe by an inch or two (3 to 5 cm)

If you had a growth spurt long back, then you are kind of short.
If you never had such a thing, then maye i guess you will gain a couple of more inches, like you may reach 175cms...

You will probably get a little bit taller
but I guess you are classified as a moderate-short guy

well, i don't use the metric system, but it doesn't sound short to me! some men only hit their spurt in their twenties, so no worries. i just happened to hit mine when i was in third grade, i'm 5'7" and i'm 14.

I think it is, because i am 12, and i am 155cm tall. i am also short for my age so, i would say yes.
