Does he rank alongside Winston Churchill, Francis Drake, Lord Nelson and Bobby Moore? Is he an achiever like Frank Whittle, Alexander Graham Bell and Isaac Newton? Can he write like Shakespeare, Byron, Tennyson and Wordsworth? Does he paint like Turner or Lowry?
No ... he's a spin bowler - granted he's the first Sikh to play for England - and an average fielder and batsman! Let's see him take 1000 Test wickets including at least 40 in Tests in Australia this winter then decide!

He seems like a really nice bloke.
He obviously loves cricket, plays with passion but ultimately is fallible (see his catching/fielding in his first England games).
He's also made watching England more enjoyable. I'd pay to watch him.
I don't think he's done enough to be a hero just yet but he's got the character to be a future hero.

He is one (of many reasons) as to why Britain is Great IMO. A multi racial society [the England cricket team in this instance] coming together and being stronger as one for the difference in each others backgrounds/beliefs.
Great stuff.
Chances are (English luck) that he'll get injured soon enough and wont be able to play in forthcoming crucial games!

I think so. Most of the cricket fans love him!!! And he can be a lethal bowler when he wants to be.
He might be of Indian blood but he was born here and I guess he sees himself as British.
