Perhaps you have weak ankles or a balance problem. Try balancing on one foot at a time focusing at a point in the distance without holding anything. When youget good at this (hold it for quite a while) first close one eye and then close both. Do this for both ankles. Otherwise this is advice a Physio gave me when I virtually tore a ligament in my ankle, you balance helps you to put your feet down flat and each time you twist your ankle you make the problem worse.
Or go and see a Physio who is qualified, they're not that expensive and well worth it!

I had the same thing a couple of years ago, I kept going over on my ankles for no reason. Never found out the cause but I have stopped doing it now. It seems that if you do it a couple of times you weaken the ankle and keep doing it.

Best to see the doctor about this one.
Whether you have weak bones or muscles, it could be a possiblity. When you twist your ankle does the foot go in or out? You might have a hip/joint problem such as bow legs.
Maybe your too clumsy with your walking?
Who knows?
Only your gp can help.

Similar thing happens to my right ankle when playing football. I sprained it last year (quite badly) and now whenever i play football my ankle goes in some form or another (from a twinge to a full blown sprain) depite strapping it up.
I have resigned myself to having a weak right ankle and just put up with it.

Maybe you have weak ankles, try wearing ankle boots for a bit of extra support.

Popping as in knuckle-crack popping, or bone-clicking popping? For the past, there is not any genuine thank you to resign it. For the later, many excersizes ought to unquestionably make it worse in the event that they positioned on away on the cartilage. An old karate instructor of mine mentioned that this sort of ingredient indicated which you mandatory to drink greater water.

Are you carrying excess weight? Also try flexing your ankles while sitting at home. Build up some strength and flexibility in them. Hope this may help.
