The herpes virus creates cold sores/fever blisters. Anyone could be exposed to HSV-1 just by sharing drinks, used spoons, using someone's lipsticks, and kissing anyone that has it. Cold sores are usually fairly sensitive blisters which can surface near the mouth area, or possibly the inside of the mouth or nose, somewhere else on the face, and somewhere else on your body.

Cold sores can flare up because of greater anxiety, the common cold, a fever, cold weather, certain foods, or even excessive direct sun light. The area may start to itch, then the sore could appear. The sore could dry and produce a yellowish crusting. They might stick around anywhere from 7 to 14 days. An individual can attempt to cover it up the cold sore using cosmetics, although that normally will make the cold sore worse.

To eliminate cold sores, a person might attempt using a cold sore specific lotion, use lip balm with sunscreen, dab aloe vera, take echinacea, vitamins C and also vitamin E, and totally avoiding coming in contact with it. Through embracing several changes in lifestyle, it really is possible to prevent them and even inhibit them from reoccurring.

Cold sore is caused by a virus. The virus must run its course. Many creams and ointments will actually make the cold sore worse. Keep it clean and dry. Avoid touching it and getting it cross contaminated. It may also turn into a bacterial infection by touching it and contacting it with items. Try Herpicin over the counter or see a doctor for a perscription. Many of the RX are much more effective.

In my personal opinion none of that OTC stuff worked for me. I usually dab a bit of bleach on it and it clears it up in no time.
