That is the story of me and my husband. We had our daughter Oct 2001 and have been trying ever since April 2004. I became pregnant once this past April (2006) but m/c at 7wks. I stopped bleeding on May17th and have had a cycle for June July and Aug. Everything is said to be fine with me, based on minimal evaluation from my Dr. And my husband has a 12yr old prior to us.
I guess what I want to know is, how long have you been TTC after previous child(ren)? Did you seek medcinal help? If so what kind? Did any one have a "thing" that worked naturally (like pre seed or an old wives remedy)?

Secondary infertility is not uncommon. Do a search for "secondary infertility" and you will find a ton of info and support.

A friend of mine has that problem. She has a 3 year old but her & her husband have been trying for another with no luck. It was hard enough for her to get pregnant w/ the first one actually...she had a miscarriage before him. She said she almost had to literally stand on her head to let gravity help everything come together for her to conceive. Apparently she's got an inverted cervix or something like that & that's what is making it hard for her. Try & talk to your doctor about different options you can use to help you conceive & hopefully carry the child to full term. OR since you said your doctor just did a minimal evaluation, I would go get a second opinion from another doctor & get a FULL one done. Best of luck to you!

Secondary infertility is very common. It's suggested that you consult your DR after TTC for 6 months with no success.

I've known a few ladies that were TTC would take cough syrup before sex because the guaifenesian in it thins the mucus membrane of the egg making it easier for the egg to be fertilized. Personally, I hate cough syrup so I reccommend taking the tablets that are available called Mucinex or Humibid.

I had my daughter in 2003 and had a m/c in feb of 2006. We started ttc 3 months after.......Just keep trying! I know the waiting sucks but most dr.'s won't do anything until you have been trying for more then 12 months. Good Luck!
