There has been a lot of speculation on who is going to be killed in the final book of the Harry Potter series. There is gambling going on on who it will be. From what has been said from previous interviews, Harry may well be on the chopping block. Her reasoning is that she doesn't want anyone else to continue on with the series, kind of like what they did with Star Wars. We do know that it will be 2 main characters, one almost definitly being Lord Voldemort (we can't have evil running around), but the second is still pretty unknown. I'm hoping Harry won't die, but I guess we will have to wait and see.

I am also disappointed that this is in the Movies section, but anyway...
J.K. Rowling is Joanne Kathleen Rowling, and she was contracted for 7 books in the Harry Potter series.
She has said that at least two characters will die in the final book. There are seven books because each book takes place over a school year, and Harry is to attend Hogwarts for seven years.
No word on whether she will start a new series, or whether Harry will indeed meet his end in the final installment.

Very bad question. You should have asked "Will J.K.Rowling kill Harry Potter in the next book, and is she tired of writing the series". No to both. She will not kill him off because this series is following the classic Good vs Evil story line (much like star wars), meaning that it is easy to predict the story (Everyone new that Dumbledore would die in the previous book, even before it was published). In this kind of story good always wins over evil, but she may kill him off as a nice end of story piece when he becomes an old man. And she is not tired of writing it because writing is enjoyable, and anyway she had the basic storyline sorted before she started to write the first one.

The logic that I've heard some people use - and I can't say I totally disagree - is that some other writer couldn't just pick up where J.K. Rowling left off and have Harry continue in some adventures that she never intended, or directions she would not want her characters to go into.
That said, the "Harry Potter lives/dies at the end of book seven" is the best parlor game at the moment. My money - and I have NO inside knowledge - is on him dying.

JK said SHE would be willing to kill Harry if it could prevent authors writing any future books about him. She already has the last chapter written and is now working on the rest of the book.
Go to
and go to the tab about Book 7.

If to computer screen Rowling's interviews, she states that she intentionally ended the final e book with Harry being settled down with infants by way of fact she might incredibly that no person else attempt to proceed the Potter tale. So she ended the sequence proceeding to inhibit fan fiction from becoming into some thing rewarding. in case you write the story to your guy or woman entertainment, then choose for it. i does not propose ever attempting to submit it, however. satisfied writing!

The prophecy says that one must die for the other to live. So I believe only ONE of them (Harry or Voldemort) will die. And if its Voldemort who lives, I am gonna have to boycott JK Rowling for the rest of my life then....
I dont think she is too tired to right the last novel. However, I do believe she gave herself ample time to get it done on purpose. She just had another child, and she also works on the production of the films, so she needs the time.

I hope she doesn't have Harry die but I've heard several rumors so who knows...........
I don't think she's tired of writting, she started off saying there would be 7 books. After that maybe she'll start writting her next best seller. Harry made her rich, I'm sure she loves him!!!

Oh dear God, where did you hear that Harry will die in the next edition? It's not even out yet so we wouldn't know for sure. If she did kill Harry, I think J.K. has her own reasons.

i find it sad that you put this question in "movies." and if u care so much about harry u would know jk rowling is a woman. She probly wont even kill him. she wouldnt want the "wizarding world" that she created for 15 years to be destroyed after 1 book.
