I, too, am trying to learn how to write. The best way to learn how to write in any language is to write. Answer questions here. Practice your English here. It works for me.

The best way to improve your writing is to read. Read anything and everything you can. Newspapers, novels, magazines.. anything. If you would like to know more about the technical aspects of the english language, I would suggest reading a book on grammer.

I understand your dilemma. From my experience practicing is the best way to go as far as speaking the language. Now for the writing get a dictionary and thesaurus. one will help with spelling and the other will give you alternative words to use. Hope I helped. In both language and writing practice makes perfect.

Try listening to NPR (National Public Radio) or the BBC (British Broadcasting Company). You can find them at www.npr.org or bbc.co.uk. You can listen to them online and they will be good examples of American English and true English.

I hope this helps.
