That's one of my most favorite moments in life, when I feel that way. I love it, how could you want to avoid it? It means you had such a great childhood. God Damn I miss those days, especially the rainy ones. I ended up learning some cool stuff because I was stuck inside. Seeing the wonder in everything and being in awe of nature when you discover something really cool. Thanks for the flash back.

No, keep reading Calvin & Hobbes. It's childhood idealized, & hilarious, to boot. (C: where do you go when you die? H: Pittsburgh. C: If you're good or if you're bad? - funny cos I lived in Pgh. but I digress...)
If you've got kids (if not, borrow a relative's), watch them when they're at their most obnoxious, evil little selves. Being mean to their sibs or friends, crabby because they need to set the table or not allowed to use their Nintendo DS when they want. Or take them back to school shopping (a fate worse than death). Remember that kid who called you a dork when you were 6.
The feeling will pass. But you should hold on to it a little bit first. Just so you never forget what it was like.

Have a mother like mine, and you'll never want to go back to your childhood! And please don't stop reading Calvin and Hobbes, they make the world go round...lol.

Well I guess that means you had a good childhood.
So I suggest you enjoy the memories and not regret living them so long ago.
I would like to forget a lot of mine...

unavoidable i'm afraid. . . . . I think everyone has this pang of innocence once in a while - it was so much simpler when you were a child. . . .
