Motorway driving is much easier than driving through a town.

You don't have to change gears as often and you tend to have plenty of time to work out which junction you need.

I used to be worried about driving on the motorway but I do it everyday now.

My best advice is this: Look forward to it, driving on the motorway can be fun as you get to go a lot faster than normal!

Good luck.

It's fine! just pretend you're on the dual carriage way. Be careful- use your mirrors when you change lanes- don't feel pressurised to go any faster then you want to (within reason of course). The first time I went on the motorway I stuck to the left hand lane all the way, unless I was behind a lorry which can be a bit disconcerting as you can't see much and drove at around 60mph.
Just be calm and don't panic,

The motorway is fine .. your best bet is to stick to the slow lane (furthest left) and do a speed you are comfortable with .. this will allow other faster cars to pass you without hassling you and you will be near the hard shoulder should you need to pull off and stop.

Also staying on this lane means you wont have to chop and change when you reach your junction giving you plenty of time to pull off safely.

Just relax motorway driving is very easy keep to the inside lane just because the speed limit is 70mph doesn't meen you have to go 70 if you stick to 60/65 most cars will overtake you .Good luck.

bless you! i hope u got on OK!! motor ways are OK once u get used to them. i used to bomb up and down the M40, M42 and M6 from Reading to Birmingham in an old G -reg nova, until the engine started cutting out at 70mph. that cars scrap now, v. dangerous!!

Dont go Too slow, stick at a steady 70mph and relax,
Motorways are very safe, just remember to look in your mirrors.

NO!

Under no circumstances must you go anywhere near the M40 junction 1 today.

DO NOT DO THIS

There is a huge monster sitting right in the middle of the road and it will eat your car up with you in it.

DO NOT GO ANYWHERE NEAR THE M40 TODAY

In fact, don't go anywhere near your car today.
In fact don't ever go near your car - EVER EVER AGAIN

Stay in bed.

please
