I bought her from a pet store around two months ago. She was considered a 'baby' at the time of purchase. I started to notice this past week that she has gained an excessive amount of 'weight'. She squeaks anytime I touch her stomach, and she makes a long squeaking sound when I try to pick her up. I've noticed she's not that active, and her stomach is quite big. Looking at her from the top, she looks very, very wide. Her stomach is a little firm. I've also noticed that she has been looking at me when I walk in and out of the room, while making this noise with her teeth. I've never heard the noise before. She mostly eats, drinks a lot of water, and lays in the corner. When I first got her, she would run around and hop with lots of energy. It's only two months later, and I'm curious to whether she's just fat or pregnant. Please help me. I'm really confused, and I don't know anything about guinea pig birth. Any advice would help me tons.

She was possibly pregnant when you bought her if she had been in with a male. She may have up to six babies but more usually two or three. She will have been pregnant for up to 10 weeks. The gestation is 69 to 72 days. The babies are born completley fured and their eye are open. The need to be with mum for 5 weeks when they can be weaned. The babies usually start feeding on solid food before they are one week old. Make sure Mum has plenty of veg in her diet as she needs Vitamin C to pass on to the babies. Do not feed her any milk or dairy pruducts.
Cauliflower is one of the best vegies for Vitamin C, itcontains 4 times more than apples.
Responsible pet stores no not mix sexes, they keep them seperate.Sometimes they come in from the breeders allready pregnant at six weeks old.

She is probably pregnant.(If she lives with any other guinea pigs she needs to be seperated) Don't touch her within the next few weeks or until she has her babies.
When she looks at you and makes the "noise" she is just protecting herself. When guinea pigs live at the pet store, they can't be seperated from the other guinea pigs so the noise is just one guinea pig telling another(Or in your case, telling you) to back off and that she's pregnant.
In about 3 weeks(It's actually 6 weeks but I left off 3 since you've had her for 2 months) you will have little guinea pigs squeaking. You need to be PREPARED! As soon as the babies are born the mother will probably rest so that is when you need to take the babies out of the cage.(If you don't the mother will eat them.Ew,I know.) If you have kids or kids come around your house often then you need another cage to put the babies in.(It could be one of the Crittertrail Carriers for the "traveling pets" since they aren't very big or expensive.) If you don't have kids then you can just put them on a towel in a box.
GOOD LUCK!

Guinea pigs are like tribbles, they are born pregnant. Actually they can get pregnant when they are babies. Most female cavies you get at the pet store are pregnant cuz they are were in with males.

Gestation period is 63 days that's 9 weeks so if you have had her 8 weeks she could very well be pregnant.

When she has the babies you really don't need to do anything except take pictures. They are so cute! Wait a bit until you are sure they are all born and nursing etc. Then clean the side of the cage the mom is NOT in. There will be blood and possible tissue there. Then VERY GENTLY coax her into the clean side of the cage and clean the other side. DO NOT PICK HER UP. Normally there are 2 babies but once I had a guinea pig who had 10 babies!

Wendy is correct, your pig is probably pregnant.
They can have 1-4 babies and they are sexually active at 3 weeks old and they have a longer gestation period than other rodents.
That is why yours probably came pregnant and is just now showing.
Guinea pigs are a bit difficult to sex, so when she has her babies remember to have someone help you sex them and seperate them at 3 weeks or you will very shortly find yourself with more than you can handle.
They are born with fur and running around within the hour, but they nurse for the first three weeks. They will also nibble mom's food.
There are many rescue organizations out there for Guinea Pigs because they are notoriously hard to place and people find themselves with pregnant pigs all the time due to pet store indifference and ignorance.
