You can get them at most candle stores- they are candle warmers and they sell candles with them, they dont have any wicks, you just place the jar inside the warmer and turn it on- no flame, no smoke when you blow it out and they have tons of different scents. It puts off a very light inviting scent, and I love it, I have never been so happy with a scent product in my life- people walk in my house and comment on how good it smells. I am currently burning a cinnamon one, the next one is going to be clean linen- smells just like snuggle fabric softener. They are great!!! I hope you will consider my idea, you will be happy with it.

For smokes they have these little containers called smoke eaters. They are pretty much green goo that attract smoke. They work rather well. Invest in a good air freshener. Febreeze air effects or the oust concentrated spray are nice. They are both non aerosol so you don't have the chemical after odor.
And when you can just keep windows open and let the fresh air in, nothing beats airing the place out.

I have found that Yankee candle has the best plug ins. They last for a long time and make a room smell great without feeling like you are masking the odors. Get a couple bags of the Yankee candle potpourri that is the same fragrance of the plug ins and place throughout your home.
Baking soda is great too if you hide a box or two discretely. It will work for the smoke smell.

I can sympathize! I have a husband who loves to fish...a 7 year old son who loves anything stinky, 2 dogs, 1 cat, 1 parakeet, 2 turtles, and 1 beta fish! Once a week I place bowls of vinegar around the house and use febreeze in the air and arm & hammer spray on the furniture. I also find that removing the carpets in the house made a huge difference plus it helps out with my huband and son's allergies. (The turtles are kept outside so they aren't really a problem.) Also...ask your husband if he won't mind smoking outside and help you out a bit.

Sneaky ways? Well, for one thing I think your husband needs to stop smoking, especiailly with kids in the house. My father grew up in a house where people smoked and now he swells up when ever he gets a wiff of the smoke.
Place little jars filled with lavendar oil hidden all over the house, but that might make you sleepy so put in whatever scented oil you'd like.

have an exhaust fan, even just a small one, and/or keep a small can of freshener or some baking soda in some areas of the house.
you may also not want to keep the dogs inside the house. they can be kept outside, or in the backyard. designate a place for them. you may still bring them in, but always give them a good bath to keep off their doggy smell.
..and talk to your family. set limits like, no smoking inside the house, or whatever..

Once you explain to your husband that his smoking is contributing to lung problems in your sons, that smell will go away....
Try Febreze. Have your carpets cleaned. And also, take a small saucepan and put water, vanilla extract and cinnamon in it. Boil it on top of the stove. It will smell like you have been baking pies all day.
Also, put small dishes (or jar tops) full of water vinegar around. You would think that it would make the house smell like vinegar but it actually absorbs odors.
Good luck!

NOTHING beats fresh air, except cleaning. Sorry, but candles, etc. only add to the smell. Tell hubby to smoke outside. Be patient with the bed-wetter. Have everyone pitch in to bathe the puppies. Best of luck to you.

I know you have seen it on tv - febreeze works very well. You can also set out coffee beans, not ground coffee, but the coffee beans. They have a very fresh smell. My mom keeps a candle going in her candle warmer and it always smells very fresh when you walk in her house.
