Problem with adobe reader?

I tried to download a pdf file but pc kept crashing. Thought I should update adobe reader but it said I have the up to date version. Now every time I open a window on the net it takes ages then the adobe reader box comes up (blank), I close it and when I go to another window the same happens. I have tried to delete but says something about the patch (I am not very pc literate), have rebooted etc, checked for errors but still comes up. Please help!!!!! My pc is now really slow.

Adobe reader can be a pain. If you can't get it to work and don't need all its extra features, my advice would be to uninstall it and use Foxit reader instead.Foxit runs as an executable so there is no installation. Just run it and use it; also it starts up more quickly than Adobe reader.It's free.

There could be two reasons for this:

Either you've got a virus in your computer or Adobe is corrupt. Do the following steps:

1. If you don't have an Antivirus, install one immediately and run an update. If you do, update it. Run a complete scan on your system.
2. Ditto for Spyware scanner (I would recommend Windows Defender).
3. If there is no virus or spyware, uninstall and reinstall Adobe reader 7.x

Make sure that the "I Accept" button has been pressed on the EUAL screen. I think that every time you do a major update on the reader you will have to accept the EULA again. You will probably have to open adobe reader separately (without opening the document) for the EULA screen to show up.
