Can you tell where they're from by judging the words they use?? If so, how??

Sometimes, by the way they spell words. Such as Americans spell colour without a u (color). So I know they are from the US (or can't spell in English). Also the way some people are overly defensive when a question is asked about a place or race of people.

Not always. Americans are often easy to pick out, but many others write such good English that it's impossible to tell where they are from.

Or did anything in the above tell you I am from the Nertherlands?
