CrispyEd: I am sure they do. However I don't present opinion as fact, and I do not demand that everyone agree with me. Nor do I generally denigrate people with epithets like stupid, ignorant, brain washed, or racist when they don't. Trust me I think extreme right wingers are just as bad, just in a different way. With them it is the America love it or leave it attitude, which I don't agree with either.

working_four_ds: I didn't include the extreme right in the question because their mindset is different in my opinion. Where Liberals seem to think if you were more enlightened you would agree with them, the other side seems to choose to disregard you entirely when you don't agree.

You are absolutely right. But then the same thing is true about the extreme right wing conservatives. That is the problem with extremes on both sides. They will not change their position, no matter how asinine, when confronted with factual evidence that shows they are wrong. They believe that they are the only enlightened ones and everyone else is a Neanderthal.
Rather than single out extreme liberals you should have commented about extremists in any form.
But I do agree with you, another example I like, is to call them lemmings because they follow the heard and don't think for themselves, never questioning what they doing.

I don't think run-of-the-mill liberals are Borg, but radical liberals definitely fit the bill. In fact, that was my first thought when I first saw an episode with the Borg; I figured it was commentary/allegory regarding the spread of socialism where individuality is downplayed and the collective means all.
