It really depends on the day for me. It doesn't make a difference if I'm real tired to begin with, but when I go to sleep for the night is a different story. I usually play music, but sometimes my mind starts running along with it - so I'll turn it off. Other times I'll be there in silence and I'll be thinking too much - so I'll turn it on. For some reason I can go to sleep easier with the television and a light on, but I threw away my television and that would waste electricity.

I also like the sound of a fan at night. however the best sleep I get is when it's raining. It's sooths the senses and allows me to sleep a full 8 hours or more.

I always like my window fan on low, but if it gets too cold, like in the winter, then I use my little clip on fan on my head board! I've gotten so use to hearing a fan that when it is off, I find I lay awake listening to every little sound, and can't sleep!

I used to be able to and need the TV on low to sleep but now I can't stand hearing low voices, music, etc. from the TV. Now, I have to have my fan on - a regular fan (as opposed to ceiling fan) and it has to be on - blowing in my direction.

Sound is a lullaby to me and the fan breeze is almost like the rocking of the cradle
