Unfortunately,emails cannot accurately help track perpetrators of cyber crime.Lots of organisations are devoted to such work,but have had little success.
Visit the interpol(international Police) website to report such crime.Its www.interpol.int

I would forward to the server's responsible. P.Ex for a yahoo account, I would forward to yahoo contacts, look in services. This would make sure that the sender does not disappear, and they can trace the IP address.
There are also public services where you can send something like that.

No, i'm not being over-cautious, Really you need to show the police atleast call your local station, tell them about the email... Please realise some child somewhere was actually photographed and who knows what else for those pictures, Prevent it from happening again - You could have the key for un-locking a major child pornography ring.
